Gavin Yates

Gavin Yates

Dalgety Bay resident and local campaigner, Gavin Yates was selected by Labour Party members from Inverkeithing, Dalgety Bay and Aberdour to be their prospective candidate for the Fife Council elections in December last year.

Married to Fiona, he has three children under four, all of them going to nursery in the Bay.  He is a former BBC journalist and has also worked in the voluntary sector for the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations, but now both works and lives in the ward he seeks to represent.

Gavin said: “I was delighted to be selected as a prospective council election candidate for the area where I live and work. Bob Eadie has been an excellent Councillor for folk in the ward and I promise to show the same commitment and willingness to help people that he has. I have already started a campaign to restore a vital train service for Fife commuters and many people in the area will be aware of my work locally with Helen Eadie MSP.

“Inverkeithing, Dalgety Bay and Aberdour are great communities and their citizens deserve excellent professional representation from someone who is part of their community and understands and shares their concerns and is prepared to do the work to get the job done properly.”
