Speaking on the release of ONS growth figures for Q2 of 2010 being revised upwards, Shadow Scottish Secretary and Labour MP Jim Murphy said:
“Labour’s approach to the recession was working, and these figures show that the Tories are taking a massive gamble with growth.
“They don’t seem to care that their economic vandalism will push a hundred thousands Scots out of work.
“We need a balanced economic approach where the focus is on creating jobs, not scrapping them.
“George Osborne’s emergency budget was based on a big lie that the economy was worse than thought when actually we now know the reverse was true.
“The tradegy is that their plans, coupled with the Salmond Slump, risk a double dip-recession inflicting more pain on families.”
