QUARTER 2 FIGURES SHOW TORIES ARE TAKING GAMBLE WITH GROWTH

Speaking on the release of ONS growth figures for Q2 of 2010 being revised upwards, Shadow Scottish Secretary and Labour MP Jim Murphy said:

“Labour’s approach to the recession was working, and these figures show that the Tories are taking a massive gamble with growth.

“They don’t seem to care that their economic vandalism will push a hundred thousands Scots out of work.

“We need a balanced economic approach where the focus is on creating jobs, not scrapping them.

“George Osborne’s emergency budget was based on a big lie that the economy was worse than thought when actually we now know the reverse was true.

“The tradegy is that their plans, coupled with the Salmond Slump, risk a double dip-recession inflicting more pain on families.”
